Products that Jill Recommends

Havel’s Snip-Eze Scissors – This is the tool to have for your best machine quilting.  The Snip-Eze scissor is easy to grab and be able to snip your threads close to your work without leaving that messy little tail on your work.  Nice to use because you don’t have to fight with finger holes.  A must have!   Price:  $19.95

Heritage Cutlery 4” Heirloom Scissors – These scissors are ideal for trimming your trapunto batting.  The blunt nose tip protects your quilt top from being snipped while cutting away the batting.  The rubber finger guards protect your fingers while cutting for hours.  These scissors are “The Cat’s Meow”!  Jill’s #1 pick.  Price:  $29.95

YLI Wash-A-Way Thread – This thread is a water soluble basting thread and is ideal for use with Trapunto by Machine method.  100 yard spool.  Price:  $5.50

YLI Wash-A-Way Thread – This thread is a water soluble basting thread and is ideal for use with Trapunto by Machine method.  500 yard spool.  This is the one that Jill uses and recommends.  Price:  $12.00

Synthrapol – This product is one the most important items that you will ever purchase.  Use one capful of Synthrapol in your cold water wash for the removal of excess dye from your fabrics.  Very important safeguard against bleeding fabrics all over your precious heirloom quilt.  Price:  $3.25

Stabilo #8052 White Marking Pencil – This is also Jill’s favorite fabric marker for dark fabrics.  This white marking pencil is water soluble and removes easily with just cold water.  The white markings go onto your fabric with ease and yet don’t rub off until you are ready to remove them.  Again, Jill has tried everything and these are by far, the best water soluble pencils she has found on the market.  Try one and you’ll be hooked.  Price:  3 for $7.00 or 5 for $10.00
