Introduction to Machine Quilting (Beginning Level)

Learn to machine quilt, using your home sewing machine.  Students will learn to quilt loops and curves, straight lines, free motion designs and a feathered wreath.  Learn to stipple plus much, much, more.  Learn to pin your quilt and prepare it for quilting.  Many tips are shared in this valuable introduction to machine quilting.  This is a beginning class and students will successfully learn the art of heirloom machine quilting.

Feathered Mini Whole Cloth (Quilt (Beginner + Level)

· Learn to quilt beautiful feathers, wreaths and borders

· Learn to create a mini whole cloth quilt

· Review quilting basics and quilting stitches

· Learn background stitches beyond just stipple, which will enhance the beauty of your quilt

This class is for those who have explored beginning machine quilting but would like to learn more.  This class is geared toward the quilter who can do simple machine quilting basics but wants to learn more elaborate designs and how to stitch them properly.  Students will learn beautiful feather designs and background stitches and will successfully come away from the class with a suitable wall hanging or designer pillow.

Trapunto by Machine (Beginner + Level)

· Learn the beautiful art of Trapunto by Machine to enhance the beauty of your quilts

· Easy step-by-step method taught without having to cut the back of your quilt

· More background stitches to create your beautiful heirloom quilts

· Today’s quilts become tomorrow’s heirlooms

Trapunto by Machine is a very simple process to learn.  Trapunto is the method of double stuffing your quilting motif, which will add an extra dimension to your quilting.  Must have basic machine quilting skills but this is very easy to learn.  Many useful background designs will also be explored in this class.  You will make a trapunto design that is suitable for a wall hanging or designer pillow.

Quilting Your Quilt Design Layout (Beginner + Level)

· Learn how to take your quilt top from just a top to a finished and quilted heirloom of tomorrow

· Learn to select the right quilting designs and motifs for each quilt top

· Find out about the many marking tools that are available today

· Discussion of batting types and uses

· Learn to properly pin your layers for successful quilting

· How to care for your precious heirloom

· Hundreds of quilting stencils from Jill’s collection will be available for use during the class as well as new stencils to purchase

Create Your Own Whole Cloth Wall Hanging (Beginner + Level)  NEW!!!!

· Using Jill’s collection of more than 900 stencils, learn to create and quilt your own whole cloth wall hanging.  Learn to properly lay out your design of a whole cloth and create a beautiful heirloom.  Many background stitches will be taught that will help enhance the beauty of your masterpiece.

Sashiko Sampler (Intermediate to Advanced Level Required)  NEW!!!!

· If you love decorative quilting stitches and have admired the beauty of Sashiko designs, you’ll love this class.  Come join Jill on an adventure in creating a beautiful Sashiko Sampler by machine.  Finished project measures 40” x 40”. You’ll learn to properly lay out the blocks of 9 different Sashiko stitches; mark, layer, and then machine quilt these beautiful designs.  You will even decorate your sashings with a lovely border print, all on your home sewing machine. Jill will make the marking easy and fun, and then show you how to quilt each motif easily and quickly, using free motion quilting techniques. Must be able to free motion quilt and have good control of stitches.
